About Ashley Thompson, LCSW

Ashley Thompson (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of North Carolina.

Ashley has experience and training in many areas of mental health care, including infertility, reproductive healthcare, fertility preservation, perinatal & postpartum mood disorders, grief and loss, child loss, oncology care, depression, anxiety, and life transitions.  She is passionate about helping individuals, couples and families navigate the stressors of family building.  She focuses on helping people cope with every step in the process, including pregnancy loss, infertility diagnoses, navigating treatment options, and those experiencing perinatal and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders.

Beginning therapy can be intimidating at times.  Many people feel emotionally, financially, and physically drained while experiencing infertility, and adding something to your plate can feel overwhelming.  But, Ashley strives to help individuals uncover strengths while learning new coping strategies to overcome hurdles and adapt to challenging situations. She believes a strong therapeutic connection is the foundation for effective therapy. Ashley utilizes a combination of therapeutic interventions via individual and couple’s therapy, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, family systems, and Gottman method.  Her approach focuses on a balance of non-judgmental support, collaboration, and concrete tools and direction.
